Decentralized Tech Livestream - Dawn: A DePIN Internet for a reliable future

Originally Broadcast: October 25, 2025

Jon Radoff sits down with Neil Chatterjee to explore DAWN — the user-owned broadband network redefining how the world connects. They unpack how DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) are transforming digital access, ownership, and reliability from the ground up.

Expect a focused look at the fusion of hardware and blockchain, the economics of user-powered infrastructure, and what it takes to build an internet owned by people — not corporations.

Decentralized Tech Livestream: Welcome back everybody. You are watching the decentralized tech live stream. This is where we talk about deep

Jon Radoff: in deep in deep by D.A.I. D.I. guess add anything to the end internet capital markets all the new innovation that's happening around blockchain to decentralized technologies. My name is Jon Radoff. I'm joined here by Oscar my intrepid producer who makes it so much easier for me because I can just sit here and talk while Oscar throws videos on the screen fields questions all of that stuff. I'm from a company called beamable where a deep in project we're building. Infrastructure back ends for game developers. Get into that a little bit more in a bit because some of you are already asking about like the TGE, the pre sale all that stuff. I'll mention it. Don't worry. We'll tell you where to go. But I wanted to let you know that we have a really really cool guest today. I've got Neil here from dawn and Neil and I first met in Korea. Really just I guess it was it feels very recent but maybe it was a couple months ago. I don't know time is all a blur. At this point and I really really appreciated everything Neil had to say about deep in at a particular talk we were it was very pragmatic it was quantitative. It was really cool and I hope to bring that forward in today's conversation. But I'm going to let Neil just introduce himself first so Neil. Who are you how did you get to this point in time.

Decentralized Tech Livestream: Well first let me say John thanks so much for for bringing me on here today dude I really appreciate it and you know obviously when we first connected in Korea I think you're right it's kind of time kind of burst. There's like a month and a week ago. So again man I appreciate you having me on here and for everyone who has never met me before my name is Neil I'm the co founder and CEO of dawn internet. And so who I am you know my background is as an electrical engineer from Princeton that's where I live. You know I dropped out right before my senior year to my parents pleasure that was the favorite thing in the world. And I actually got pulled into the startup ecosystem so I was first you know VP of engineering at a health care analytics startup got kind of bored of building expensive SaaS stuff and ended up falling in love with connectivity. I guess there's like a long story behind all that we don't have to get too crazy into that. But you know suffice to say the easiest answer is I just fell in love with this idea of how can people team up together to solve big connectivity issues. And that was kind of the beginning I guess of my career in telecom so to say it was really kind of just one thing led to another like my background as an electrical engineer wasn't in communication system. So it was in protocol design different kind of protocol not crypto protocol design. So it was fun to kind of spread that gap and go from like this academic mindset to now building protocols that hopefully touch as many people as possible. You know I think what we're building at dawn has an opportunity to really change the internet for forever really. But that's a little bit of my background John and how we got here today so yeah let's go ahead and get right into it.
